UNIVRS is operated by Black Sands Ventures, Inc., 1050 E Flamingo Rd s107, Las Vegas, NV 89119. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as name, email address, password credential handled by WordPress, avatar, profile preferences, and connected-account status.
- Trip and voyage details such as dates, destinations, explicitly connected sailings, itinerary items, ship and port day context, reservations you enter, saved research, notes, party status, and traveler invitations.
- Passport activity such as badges, Games, seasonal progress, saved entities, alerts, and progression.
- Household information such as household name, member roles, invitation email addresses, permissions, and shared activity.
- Support messages, suggestions, gift recipient details, and communications you send to us.
Information collected through use
- Device, browser, approximate network, cookie, session, diagnostic, and security information.
- App routes, feature interactions, notification settings, and content preferences.
- Location only when you choose to share device location or use a location-dependent feature. Family park-day and voyage-day location is optional, temporary, and not retained as permanent movement history after expiration.
- Notification subscription data when you enable browser or PWA notifications.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. UNIVRS receives transaction identifiers, membership tier, status, customer and subscription references, renewal dates, invoice information, limited payment-method descriptors, and a one-way keyed hash derived from Stripe’s payment-method fingerprint for duplicate-refund and abuse review. UNIVRS does not store full card numbers, card security codes, or the raw payment fingerprint.
Google sign-in
When you choose Google sign-in, UNIVRS receives the verified account identifier, name, email address, and profile image made available by Google for authentication. We do not receive your Google password.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts and sessions.
- Save and synchronize Trips, Today’s Action, Live Map preferences, Passport progress, alerts, and household activity.
- Process annual memberships, gifts, renewals, invoices, refund requests, and billing support.
- Personalize destinations, content, reminders, recommendations, and feature access.
- Send transactional messages, invitations, requested notifications, and support responses.
- Detect misuse, prevent duplicate refund claims and account leakage, investigate errors, maintain security, and improve reliability.
- Comply with law, enforce terms, and protect users, the public, and our rights.
4. How information is disclosed
We disclose information only as needed for the service, including to hosting and infrastructure providers, Stripe for payments and billing, Google for identity and map-related services, email and notification delivery providers, content and destination-data providers, professional advisers, and authorities when legally required. We may disclose information in a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Cookies, sessions, and local storage
UNIVRS uses cookies and browser storage to maintain authentication, protect account ownership, remember the active route and destination, retain drafts, support PWA operation, and improve performance. Blocking required storage may prevent sign-in, trip saving, or membership actions from working.
6. Location and notifications
Location and device notifications are optional. Your browser or device controls permission. You may withdraw permission through browser or operating-system settings, although previously saved location-based preferences may remain until deleted.
7. Children’s privacy
UNIVRS is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create independent accounts. A parent or legal guardian may manage a child profile within an eligible Family household. The adult household owner is responsible for permissions, information entered for the child, and use of shared features. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and prevent fraud. Retention varies by category. You may request account deletion, but certain billing, security, legal, and backup records may be retained where permitted or required.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your account, use a unique password, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
10. Your choices and privacy rights
You can update profile, notification, privacy, household, and connected-account settings inside UNIVRS. Depending on where you live and whether applicable law covers our activities, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information and to opt out of certain uses. We may verify identity before fulfilling a request.
California and Nevada residents may submit applicable requests to [email protected]. Because UNIVRS does not sell personal information for money or knowingly share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there may be no sale or sharing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
11. Third-party services and links
UNIVRS may link to destination operators, creators, merchants, maps, ticketing, dining, and other services. Their privacy practices apply when you leave UNIVRS or interact directly with them.
12. International use
UNIVRS is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as UNIVRS changes. The effective date will be revised, and additional notice may be provided when required.
