Cookies and storage

Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and browser storage UNIVRS uses, which categories are essential, and how to change optional choices.Effective July 14, 2026

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy applies to UNIVRS websites, the public app, account areas, and Console-accessible public experiences operated by Black Sands Ventures, Inc.. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. UNIVRS may also use local storage, session storage, service-worker caches, and similar storage technologies. These tools can keep a session secure, remember a trip or route, save preferences, measure aggregate use, and support optional marketing attribution.

3. Essential storage

Essential storage is used for account authentication, first-party session continuity, security and anti-abuse controls, membership checkout handoff, saved cookie choices, trip drafts, active-trip context, PWA operation, and load-balancing or cache integrity. These functions may not work when essential storage is blocked.

Examples may include WordPress authentication cookies, the signed UNIVRS app-session cookie, security nonces, consent-choice storage, and short-lived route or draft state.

4. Optional categories

Analytics

Helps us understand aggregate route use, failures, performance, and feature adoption. Optional analytics should not load before consent where consent is required.

Personalization

Remembers optional destination, content, and recommendation preferences beyond what is required to provide the account or trip service.

Marketing

Supports campaign attribution, offer measurement, and relevant promotional experiences. Marketing storage is optional.

Third-party services

Stripe, Google, maps, video, email, or other integrated services may use their own storage when their feature is loaded. Their policies also apply.

5. Your choices

On your first eligible visit, UNIVRS offers controls to accept all optional categories, reject optional categories, or manage each category. Rejecting must remain available without preventing use of essential account and trip functions. Use the persistent Privacy choices control to change or withdraw optional consent later.

6. Consent records

UNIVRS records the consent-policy version, selected categories, time, user ID when signed in, and limited hashed security context. This supports preference continuity and evidence of the choice. The consent record does not contain a full IP address or raw browser fingerprint.

7. Current first-party storage register

The exact register may change when features or providers change. Console should be used to review and version the active policy before launch.

8. Browser and device controls

You can clear or block browser storage through browser settings. Blocking essential storage may sign you out, remove drafts, or prevent Trips, membership, or security features from working. Browser-level deletion may not remove server-side account records; use Data Rights for those requests.

9. Updates

We may update this policy and the consent version when categories, providers, or purposes materially change. When required, UNIVRS will ask for a new choice.

Choose how UNIVRS may use optional cookies

Essential cookies are always active because they support authentication, account security, saved trips, billing handoff, and preference storage.
